Multi-talented artist Bright Andrew Igho, also known as B-Elect,   Elect1 and Elected1 was a creative powerhouse of reckoning. He was a prolific writer, poet, rap enthusiast and visual artist, who attained critical success with his unique writing style and thought-provoking lyrics.

His previous materials include “Beats Rhymes and Theology” (2006) and the ground-breaking album "Hard Listeners” (2011). He returned with a fresh new sound and concept EP “The Gospel Truf" (2016), which he described as "a surreal, sporadic, elect-trical flow on sparse piano chords and boombap traditional drums." The material was inspired by Biblical insights, his rededication to faith and a prelude to his first book, "A Samson In the Wild” (2023); in which he delicately balances the topics of faith with masculine sexual conduct and its consequences.

In the visual art space, B’s outstanding paintings and drawings have shown at notable exhibitions, and are a collectors’ item. His extraordinary creativity brought fresh breath to Nigeria’s advertising industry and revolutionised the music scene in ways still emulated.

He will forever be remembered as a foundational father of the Hip Hop genre in Nigeria, with the group “Thorobreds”and award-winning track “Street Hop”. The six-pack comprise Elajoe, Tobechukwu ‘ILLBLISS’ Ejiofor, Obiora ‘OBIWON’ Nwokolobiagu, Amaka 'Da Chief Rocka’ Nwosu, Bright ‘B-ELECT’ Igho and Ikenna ‘MGB’ Ezenriyoha.

Up until his transition on June 8, 2019, Bright remained a multi-faceted creative, a tireless peacemaker, an inspiring mentor to young men, and an advocate for living a balanced and healthy life. A ‘thorobred’ legend to the core - who didn’t leave without leaving his mark on humanity. His message and work are carried on through this foundation by his wife Patricia Ndidi Igho.
