New Book, ‘A Samson In The Wild’, Reveals Rare Insights into Men’s Struggles

Released posthumously on June 12, 2024, A Samson In The Wild is a gift to Men in the Church from author Bright Andrew Igho popularly known as B-Elect.
In the author's own words, “ In this book, I describe sexual activities and other occurrences as part of a story that borders on masculine sexual conduct and its consequences. To avoid being mistaken for another erotic novel, sex is described using natural elements such as smell, colour, and other forms.”
A Samson In The Wild addresses years of struggles and ultimately the downsides of a character called Adrian, who goes through a wilderness of careless living, outside of his belief in Jesus as Lord and savior and ultimately a final submission to his true calling.
A Samson In The Wild is powerful in its portrayals, character breakdowns and juicy stories. It is the author's testimony that takes readers through emotional highs and lows, which ultimately lead to redemption. Hope and optimism are constants, amidst the defeat, shame and weakness of ‘backsliding’.

The 274-page turner is set in Nigeria and uses interesting characters and features such as poetry, Bible verses and music lyrics to tell an engaging life-changing story. It was first published in Nigeria by Worital Global, and invited collaborations from the author's friends and family. These include Verdant Zeal’s CEO Dr. Tunji Olugbodi who wrote the foreword, as well as Lagos-based visual artist Uchenna ‘Busta’ Ohagwu designed the book cover, and U.S author and friend Maurice E. Okereke who provided the book’s commentary.
In seeming preparedness for his departure, Igho delivers a full package with the completion of this book in 2016. That same year, he returned to the music scene with a fresh new sound and concept EP “The Gospel Truf" (2016), which he described as "a surreal, sporadic, elect-trical flow on sparse piano chords and boombap traditional drums." The material was inspired by Biblical insights, his rededication to faith and a prelude to this book, "A Samson In the Wild”. The cover art are characters from the book - two pieces of visual paintings taken from the author’s collection that accompany the book.

About the Author
Bright Andrew Igho a.k.a B-Elect (February 19, 1968 - June 8, 2019) lived a full life as an outstanding and prolific musician, author, poet, rap enthusiast and visual artist. His massive contribution to Nigeria’s music history, particularly to the Hip Hop genre, has not gone unnoticed. A Samson In The Wild is his first published book, which was released posthumously on June 12, 2024 to celebrate his rich artistic legacy in art, creativity, leadership, community and the church.
